We are a small, 5-acre, 50-site family-owned caravan park with a community of local residents, mine workers and tourist clientele seeking applications for the position of a live-in office manager and all-rounder couple. The park consists of a combination of cabins, caravan and camping sites. An on-site relief manager is available to allow one day off per week.
Duties include, but are not limited to
- Day-to-day operations of the park
- Taking and managing bookings and answering general enquiries
- General repairs and grounds maintenance
- Cleaning and internal cabin maintenance
- Cash and EFTPOS handling and reporting
- Assisting the owners in fulfilling the goals for growth of the park via advertising and marketing strategies
The successful applicant(s) will have..
- Excellent front office customer service and conflict resolution skills
- be able to work autonomously and be self motivated
- Practical and easy going with a great sense of humour
- Adaptability to work in all seasons and situations with a can do attitude
- Handyman skills to facilitate minor repairs to amenities, cabins and appliances, keep tools and vehicles in good condition and perform grounds-keeping duties
- At least 2 years experience in caravan park management, having worked towards achieving 90-100% capacity
- Mid-level computer skills - managing bookings, creating invoices, writing emails, tracking and reconciling receipt of payments, social media posting
- Good organisational skills
- A current drivers licence
You must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays (with relief provided for holidays), enforce park rules (including evicting tenants) and follow processes where required. A current driver’s license is required.
The position is more suited to a couple but a single person with the right credentials may be considered. We would be prepared to consider visa sponsorship for the right applicants.
The job includes on-site accommodation in manager’s quarters (including utilities) and this will form part of the offered salary package.
Wages and working times are negotiable depending on experience and required flexibility respectively. As the park is NOT considered to be a holiday park, there is a bonus that leave can be taken during the Christmas holiday period provided that sufficient notice is given to arrange relief managers.
