About Us
Baked Culture is a fast-growing, family-run artisan bakery located in the heart of Wauchope, NSW, just a short drive from Port Macquarie. We are surrounded by some of the region’s most beautiful beaches and hinterland. From humble beginnings, we have grown into a respected bakery serving both retail and wholesale clients across the Mid North Coast. We are deeply passionate about supporting local producers, creating exceptional sourdough breads and pastries, and being a cornerstone of our local food community.
We Are Hiring
We are currently seeking two full-time team members to join our close-knit crew:
1. Sourdough Baker
2. Pastry Chef
Both roles offer 38 hours per week with flexible scheduling for the right candidates.
Position 1: Sourdough Baker
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a range of artisan sourdough breads using traditional methods.
- Manage bulk fermentation, shaping, proofing, and baking schedules.
- Operate commercial mixers, ovens, and other baking equipment.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and efficient workspace.
- Participate in product development and contribute ideas to expand our sourdough range.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a baker, focusing on sourdough.
- Formal qualifications in baking or commercial cookery (Certificate III or higher) preferred.
- Strong understanding of fermentation techniques and dough handling.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to work early mornings and either independently or as part of a team.

Position 2: Pastry Chef
Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality sweet and savory pastries,Pies,Sausage rolls, tarts, cakes, and other bakery items.
- Create laminated doughs such as croissants and danishes from scratch.
- Assist with menu planning and seasonal product development.
- Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality control.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial pastry environment.
- Formal pastry or commercial cookery qualifications (Certificate III or higher) preferred.
- Skilled in a range of pastry techniques, including lamination, piping, and finishing.
- A passion for artisan products and attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
