Duties
Reporting directly to the Director, the roles of a Mechanical Engineer include but are not limited to;
1. Plan and manage projects with a focus on equipment maintenance and inspection to ensure machinery is checked and ready for optimal performance before use.
2. Develop standards for inspection, maintenance, modification and quality control of manufacturing equipment and processes. Make sure they align with the engineering principles, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and organizational goals.
3. Conduct daily and weekly inspections to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency and identify areas for improvement or maintenance to sustain production quality.
4. Perform repairs, replace parts, design modifications for equipment using CAD, direct the next maintenance schedules and collaborate with the supplier's technical team to evaluate and adopt advanced manufacturing processes.
5. Document all maintenance activities, cost-saving strategies, production plans and support machine operators & production team by providing technical expertise to minimize stoppages and meet production targets on time.
